Kevin & Sophie in the Margot Gown

Sophie and Kevin exchanged vows just outside of Portland, Oregon. Their intimate celebration took place at a modern winery called ‘Amaterra’, located on the slopes of Portland’s West Hills. Despite being close to a busy city, the location transported them straight to the countryside, with expansive valley views, making it perfect for their private outdoor ceremony. Looking at the newlyweds' photos, we love how the wedding experience goes beyond the city limits. The celebration was filled with unmatched views, white floral arrangements, and more than a few glasses of wine! 

When searching for her dream gown, Sophie had a specific brief to fit, she was looking for a high-neck crepe dress that was “unique but stood the test of time”. When Sophie came across the Margot gown at our Seattle boutique, she instantly fell in love with the design.

To complement her gown, Sophie chose to accessorize with the Gabriela Veil, a breath-taking long veil making it the perfect addition to her dress for an understated yet bold and effortlessly elegant look. Sophie felt her wedding dress was undoubtedly the ultimate match and perfectly complemented how she saw herself as a Grace bride, “someone who is confident and sexy. She is passionate and lives life to the fullest. She brings energy to every room she enters”. 

It’s no secret that a wedding can be filled with a lot of expectations, both positive and negative. Sophie’s advice is not to let people’s expectations influence your mindset on your special day. “My guests expected that at least one thing would go wrong,” she shares. Not one to stress over the little things, Sophie focused on being in the present moment. As in your everyday life, your attitude shapes the energy you bring.

“When you choose to be present on your wedding day, you really don't notice when something does or doesn't happen,” Sophie shares. In fact, the newlyweds’ day was perfect, and it all went by so fast! Whilst there are months of planning involved, it’s totally normal to experience various emotions and experiences. It’s important to accept these feelings and smile, be present and excited. This is your beginning to a happily ever after!
